I’m George Heal

Student, Journalist, Horse Racing Fan, Entertainment Specialist.

Born and raised in the South West of England, studying Multimedia Journalism at one of the best institutions for excellence in media, Bournemouth University. I am working on the student radio station Nerve Radio as a news reader, through researching and developing stories to keep students up to date on current affairs.

The university course is forever teaching me skills that professional journalists need, through practices of TV, Radio, Magazine and Print production. Also with the increase of the digital age, the course teaches us useful skills including coding HTML and CSS.

Particularly interested in current affairs, sport, entertainment. Have a passion for horse racing.

Work Experience

Radio Presenter at Nerve Media

I present a weekly show on Nerve Radio where I talk to guests and play music to keep students entertained and happy. The show provides a broad spectrum of skills and requirements that are needed for a career in the industry.

News Reader at Nerve Media

Nerve Radio is a community media organisation run for and by students. I have appeared on the professional standard radio station as a news reader. I research and read out a bulletin live once a week to keep the students at Bournemouth University up to date with current affairs. In February 2016, I won Best Newsreader at the station.
